In-depth sources about William Palmer are somewhat scarce, but the history of his life and work can be reconstructed using scattered pieces of information located within associational records, popular histories, and personal accounts. Some of the more helpful information can be located in two sources. In his Notes of the Baptists, Frederic Denison offers significant insight into the life and ministry of William Palmer as part of his history of the Baptists in Norwich, Connecticut. Denison was Palmer’s friend and Baptist colleague, and his information is valuable not only from a Baptist perspective, but also from a personal one. --Jeffrey Waldrop
He was instrumental in the formation of the New London Baptist Association in 1817.
