Treasury excerpt, "A Changing View"

9th Apr 2025

An excerpt from our latest release - A Treasury of Gary W. Long's Writings - from the "God's Sovereignty and Providence" section:

A Changing View

In matters of choice we surely rejoice,
That God has made a decree;
Before there was earth, predestined a birth,
By grace, we’re chosen to be.

“That choice is not fair,” complainers declare,
“If God chose only a few;”
For what of man’s will, his pride to fulfill?
Cannot man choose to be new?

The shame of it all, to blaspheme His call,
And think that God’s on a string.
“We’ll let Him be God, if careful He’ll trod,
Our free will still to be king.”

But turn in the Book, and have a fresh look,
Where truth surely is known.
The more we are told, the more we behold,
The sovereign rule of HIS throne.
