The next to the last subject - number 18 - in A Noble Company, volume 6, is Thomas B. Montanye.
21st Oct 2015
Montanye (1769-1828) came from a Dutch Reformed background but spent his life serving the churches and associations of which he was a part. While in New York, he helped found the Warwick Baptist Association, but later returned to Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Baptist Association. Montanye's life gives a glimpse of regular Baptist pastoral and association life in the late-eighteenth and early-nineteenth centuries. He served briefly in the War of 1812, but the most remarkable part of his life is the faithfulness that he showed to those he served. --NL
