The influence of Alexander M. Beebee (1783-1856), through his thirty-year editorship of The New York Baptist Register, wrote Charles W. Brooks, “was of incalculable value” to his denomination in the early to mid-nineteenth century. Though a lawyer by profession, following his conversion to Christ, Beebee stepped into a Christian ministry in which he proved to be the right man at the right time. In his capable hands The New York Baptist Register flourished, entering thousands of homes and touching countless lives with the “good news” of Jesus Christ. --Terry Wolever
