Known today as an exceptional and popular Christian author of the nineteenth century, whose books are still in print and widely appreciated, Octavius Winslow served nearly five years as a pastor in New York City before ministering the next forty years in England. After serving Baptist churches for nearly 35 years, he spent the last decade of his life as pastor of an Anglican church. Why he made such a move remains a mystery; yet, his time of ministry in Baptist circles and the fact that most of his works were published during that period, warrants a place for him in this series. --Johnny Truelove
