Rising from [a] humble beginning, [Alexander] matured to become the second Prime Minister of Canada. As an individual, he was firm, principled, and honest. As a politician, he defied many of the traditional trappings of public service. He was a thorn in the side of those he opposed politically, but was a caring and loving father and husband, and a loyal friend. In addition, he was a staunch Baptist and a firm believer in the grace of God through the Lord Jesus Christ. ---Patrick Kennedy
