Murray played an important role in Atlantic Baptist life in the twentieth century. As an evangelist, his skill as a preacher and his prioritization of the accessibility of the gospel led many to “come out” for Jesus across the Maritime Provinces, especially in New Brunswick. His numerous crusades significantly changed the socio-religious landscape of a number of communities throughout the region. As an educator he helped mold the United Baptist Convention’s Bible school into a junior college and laid the foundation for the institution that exists today: Crandall University. --Taylor Murray
