History of the Baptists, Ohio - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 of A History of the Baptist Churches in Ohio details how and when Baptists entered the Northwest Territory. As early as 1772, David Jones, pastor of the Regular Baptist church at Crosswicks, NJ, entered the area. (For more information on David Jones, see The Life, Journal and Works of David Jones that the Press published.) Stephen Gano was another early Baptist pastor that visited this region. He constituted what was likely the first Baptist church in Ohio in 1790. This chapter also details the beginnings of Baptist associations from 1798-1830.
