Charles Henry Thomas: b. Mar. 6, 1834, Hughesville, Pa.; d. Mar. 12, 1908, Phila., Pa.; studied at Lewisburg University, 1871, and grad. Crozer Theological Seminary, 1872; D.D., Bucknell University; m. Amanda _________ (Sept. 1839, Pa.- ), 1862; lic. Aug. 14, 1869, Moreland, Pa.; ord. June 20, 1872, Windsor and East Nantmeal churches, Pa.; supply pastor, Ridley Park, Pa., pastor, Windsor and East Nantmeal, Pa., 1872-1874, First Baptist, Lambertville, N.J., Nov. 16, 1874-Dec. 1879, Frankford Ave. Baptist, Phila., Dec. 1879-1883, Spruce Street Baptist, Phila., May 1883-1889, Fiftieth Baptist, Phila., 1889-1905, when he resigned due to declining health; he was then made pastor emeritus there until his death, “with a generous provision for his temporal needs.” His gravesite is in the Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia.
