When John Asplund published his very important Annual Register of the Baptist Denomination in 1791, it contained in a concise form the following “abstract of principles held by the Baptists in general” (1790), both in Great Britain and the United States. The abstract provided in a brief compass the essential doctrinal truth of the fuller Second London/Philadelphia Baptist Confessions and followed a similar pattern found in the headings of many Calvinistic Baptist associational minutes of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
The above excerpt is from Appendix E: "A Concise Abstract of Principles by John Asplund (1743)" in the Ministers of the Philadelphia Baptist Association 1707-1872. The Abstract consisted of 12 principles.
