Charles Bartolette (1784-1852) served nearly all of his ministerial life as pastor of the church at Amwell (later Flemington) New Jersey, which church, in the words of one writer, “by the Divine aid, he raised to very high prosperity.” A great part of that prosperity was owing to his faithful, endearing ministry, together with a series of revival seasons experienced by the congregation between the years 1829 to 1836. --Terry Wolever
