William Button was more than simply a seller and publisher of important Baptist literature at the turn of the nineteenth century, he was a Baptist leader in his own right. . . In addition to duties at Dean Street chapel and his business as a bookseller/publisher, William Button was also quite active in Baptist affairs generally in and around London. . . . His work among his London brethren also included participating in various associational activities among the sister churches and the denomination at large. --Jeff Straub
