A. D. Dixon essay review
26th Jan 2023
"A. C. Dixon set an example for other fundamentalists by adamantly opposing any practice or behavior that would encourage unbelief or tarnish the Christian character, thereby bringing discredit to Christ and his church. Morality was conditioned by a proper spiritual relationship with Christ and motivated by loving willingness to keep New Testament commandments. Such an approach to spirituality as impetus for morality helps us to understand the fundamentalist mentality as reflected in Dixon’s convictions."
A quote from the essay, A. C. Dixon (1854-1925): Exemplar of Fundamentalist Spirituality, by Gerald L. Priest, in our latest book - God's Glory in Baptist History: A Memorial Volume for Terry Wolever, edited by Michael A. G. Haykin.
