Genesis: The book of beginnings
The book of Genesis is foundational to understanding the New Testament. John Gill is an exceptional expositor of Scripture who has written among other writings, an exposition of the entire bible. His belief in the absolute sovereignty of God shows forth in his writings that are clear and logical and cannot be successfully refuted.

A MUST ON GENESIS
Any Pastor or serious Bible student needs this volume on Genesis in his library. This exposition is "tops" among the Genesis commentaries. It far exceeds any of the commentaries written in modern times. Since John Gill quotes from rabbinical sources this clears up may of the hard texts to interpret in Genesis. Without an understanding of the Jewish mind on many portions of God's Word ( esp. in Genesis) it is impossible to view the full meaning of the text.
